What is Ludo Game?

Ludo is a turn-based strategy board game played with 2 to 4 players. Each player has four tokens and a mission: get all of them from base to home by rolling the dice and moving across the board. But beware — if another player lands on your token, you go back to base.

It’s a mix of luck and tactical movement — knowing when to strike, when to run, and when to defend.

Winning Strategies for Ludo Game

  1. Don’t Rush All Tokens
  2. Focus on advancing one or two tokens initially. Having too many pieces on the board early increases capture risk.
  3. Use Sixes Smartly
  4. A six isn’t always a green light — consider releasing vs. advancing existing tokens.
  5. Block on Safe Spots
  6. Stop your token on a safe zone and trap others nearby. Use this to create stalling strategies.
  7. Capture Wisely
  8. Capturing opponents resets their progress. But it can also put your token in danger. Choose the right moment.
  9. Defend the Home Path
  10. Once near home, prioritize safe moves. Don’t risk re-entering the entire loop by being over-aggressive.
  11. Mind the Dice Probability
  12. Anticipate opponents' likely rolls when deciding where to place or keep your tokens.

History of Ludo – From Royal Courts to Global Screens

Ludo is derived from the Indian game Pachisi, which dates back over 1,300 years. Originally played on cloth with cowrie shells and pawns, it was simplified and renamed “Ludo” during the British colonial era. Since then, it has spread across continents, appearing in homes, apps, and tournaments.

Gamevoi’s digital version keeps the heart of the game intact — with the added benefits of modern controls and accessibility.
